Scheduling your CIMT Test
A physician referral is not required to schedule a CIMT test. It’s important to note that even though CIMT testing is recommended by the American Heart Association as a cost effective diagnostic tool that saves lives, it is not currently covered by Medicare or private insurance. The cost of the CIMT scan is $250, due at time of testing. Coast CIMT accepts cash, check, and credit cards.

At Coastal CIMT, carotid artery scans are performed by experienced, certified vascular sonographers. The carotid intima-media thickness is measured with ArterioVisionTM software.
ArterioVisionTM has been used worldwide in academic research for over 15 years. It is a recognized leader in predicting cardiovascular risk and measuring the effect of medications on atherosclerosis.
ArterioVisionTM is able to calculate an individual’s Arterial Age and true risk for heart attack and stroke by comparing the results to a large database of people the same age and sex.
